1970: Terriers completed a two-game sweep of St. Louis, thumping the Billikens, 9-1, behind two goals apiece from senior Wayne Gowing and sophomore Ron Anderson. Captain Steve Stirling began the onslaught followed by goals from Don “Toot” Cahon and Gowing to stake BU to a first-period 3-0 lead. Sophomore defenseman Bob Brown scored the first of his 17 goals for his rookie season, followed by Gowing’s second and Anderson’s pair. John Danby and Peter Thornton also scored for BU. sophomore Stefan Brueckner had 12 saves to gain his first varsity win.
